Counselors

ICDL has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6733. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. ICDL is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. DIR 101, 201, 202, 203, and 204 are all available for NBCC continuing education credits. The number of CEUs for NBCC are based on the number of "seat" hours for the course. In other words, the number of actual instruction hours. For example, DIR 101 is 12 and DIR 201, 202, and 203 are all 28.

Social Workers

National Association of Social Workers

DIR 101 course is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886680002-1264) for 12 continuing education contact hours. Course participants seeking to obtain NASW credits must complete a post test that is located in our online learning platform.

200-level DIRFloortime courses are not approved by NASW at this time.

NEW YORK STATE SOCIAL WORKERS:

Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders, Inc., SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0371.

State of Illinois Early Intervention Professionals

Select DIR courses are approved for the Illinois Early Intervention Training Program. Please check the Illinois Early Intervention Training website for currently approved courses. ICDL must apply for each specific class. If you are an IL EI professional that is interested in a course not listed, please e-mail ceu@icdl.com to inquire. We may be able to add IL EI approval to the course you want to attend. Please contact us in advance of the course beginning.

Physical Therapists

ICDL can apply with US state physical therapy boards for specific courses. The courses that have this CE page are approved as follows:

  • State of Texas: DIR 101 An Introduction to DIR and DIRFloortime has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 12.00 CCUs for PTs and PTAs (current approval applies to courses that end before October 24, 2020).

Art Therapists

According to the ATR-BC Recertification Standards, ICDL training programs that are approved by one of the other national continuing education boards listed on this page, may be eligible for Art Therapy continuing education credit. These standards state, "CECs will be accepted for all courses or events that fit in the ATCB Eligible Content Areas and that are presented or approved by any of the following art therapy, mental health, or behavioral sciences entities: state licensing authority, national professional organization, or national credentialing body for continuing education credit." It is the responsibility of each participant to determine if an ICDL program qualifies or not. ICDL is not an approved ATR-BC continuing education provider and as such can not award ATR-BC continuing education credits directly. However, we are approved by organizations like NBCC which may meet the above quoted standard.

Other Professionals

ICDL is in the process of assessing our continuing education credentials and applying for continuing education credits for additional professionals. Please contact ceu@icdl.com if you have any specific questions.
