The ICDL Graduate School  is licensed and approved to operate as a private degree granting institution by the BPPE in the State of California for a maximum allowable five year term.  However, the state agency regulating private postsecondary institutions in California was sunsetted by law and became "inoperative" as of July 1, 2007.  State regulation of the sector is currently undergoing a reauthorization process to recast and update the governing statute and regulations.  This process is expected to be resolved sometime early next year (2008).  All institutions approved as of June 30, 2007 have been offered a voluntary agreement commiting them to abide by the statutes and regulations as they existed on June 30, 2007.

The ICDL Graduate School, approved as of May 1, 2007, has signed the voluntary agreement with the State of California to abide by the laws and regulations governing the private postsecondary sector in California as they existed on June 30, 2007 through to an expected reauthorization date early next year.
