Continuing Education Information for Professionals

All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance documenting hours of participation in their course and available professional continuing education credits.  Please note that continuing education credit is only provided for direct seat time.  Course preparation including readings, lectures, and mentor-ship is not included in the CE hour or credit total.

The below listing of CE provider approvals includes all of our DIRFloortime® Training Program approvals.  Conferences will generally have approval from the same CE providers, but that is not necessarily the case for every conference and you need to review the conference specific documentation and web pages.

Please CLICK HERE for Instructor Disclosures for the DIRFloortime® Training Program.  The course content is focused on a specific product or service (DIRFloortime®) and there will be no mention of other products or services.

The information on the lower part of this page pertains to all of our DIRFloortime® Training Program courses.  Conferences, special events, and other courses often require us to obtain additional approvals.  In these cases, we create specific continuing education information pages.  Here are the current additional continuing education pages:

Psychology

The Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  All courses offered by ICDL as of July 1, 2016 are approved for APA continuing education.  Please e-mail ceu@icdl.com when you register for any courses or conferences to get instructions on processing your continuing education.

Counseling

ICDL has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6733. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. ICDL is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.  DIR 101, 201, 202, 203, 204, and the 2015 Annual Conference are all available for NBCC continuing education credits unless it is indicated otherwise.  The number of CEUs for NBCC are based on the number of "seat" hours for the course.  In other words, the number of actual instruction hours.  For example, DIR 101 is 12 and DIR 201, 202, and 203 are all 28.

Social Work

ICDL was approved by NASW, but we are currently in transition since NASW is not accepted by many states.  At the moment, ICDL does not have approval for social workers besides New York State.  We expect to have approval in place for many other social workers starting in May, 2017.

NEW YORK STATE:

Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders, Inc., SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0371.

State of Illinois Early Intervention Professionals

Select DIR courses are approved for
the Illinois Early Intervention Training Program.
  • Current courses available: these specific DIR 101 and DIR 203 approved courses listed on the Illinois Early Intervention Training website are the only courses available for IL EI professional credit currently.  ICDL must apply for each specific class.  If you are an IL EI professional that is interested in a course not listed, please e-mail ceu@icdl.com to inquire.  We may be able to add sessions of courses.

Art Therapy

According to the ATR-BC Recertification Standards, ICDL training programs that are approved by one of the other national continuing education boards listed on this page, may be eligible for Art Therapy continuing education credit. These standards state, "CECs will be accepted for all courses or events that fit in the ATCB Eligible Content Areas and that are presented or approved by any of the following art therapy, mental health, or behavioral sciences entities: state licensing authority, national professional organization, or national credentialing body for continuing education credit."  It is the responsibility of each participant to determine if an ICDL program qualifies or not.  ICDL is not an approved ATR-BC continuing education providerand as such can not award ATR-BC continuing education credits directly.

Other Professionals

ICDL is in the process of assessing our continuing education credentials and applying for continuing education credits for additional professionals.  Please contact ceu@icdl.com if you have any specific questions.  However, as of this date, we are only approve to provide continuing education as indicated above.
