  • Contact a regional children’s hospital to get help putting together a team of professionals who can evaluate your child.
  • Networking with other parents with experience in this area is another good way to get information about professionals who can help evaluate and/or treat your child. Many children enter through Child Find.

Federal law mandates that all children may receive evaluation testing. For those identified with developmental delays, services are to be delivered with no cost to the family. Administration of this early intervention program varies by state. In many states the program is delivered at a county or local level through the Department of Education, the Department of Health or the Department of Social Services.
