• How do I get an ID Number?
  This is the Institute’s first year using an online application, so you will need to complete and save Section 1, Page 1, in order to receive an ID number. After you have completed and submitted this section the system will generate an ID number that will be sent to you via e-mail. Once you receive the ID number you can use it to access your application at any time.  You do not need to complete your application in one sitting.  

• Is the ID number the same number I use to log into the ICDL portal?
  No, log-in information for the portal and the online application are different. To obtain an ID number for the DIR Institute application see answer above.

• My ID Number is not working what should I do?
  First, be sure the ID number you are using is for the DIR® Institute online application. You should have received a notification via e-mail from DIRInstitute@icdl.com  that included a 10 digit ID number. Initially there was a glitch in the system and it was generating multiple ID numbers, this issue has been resolved.  The last notification you received should include your current ID number.  To ensure you receive your ID number, as well as other communications from us, add DIRInstitue@icdl.com  to your safe senders list.

• How do I get started
  Complete Section 1, Page 1 and SAVE THE INFORMATION.  Wait to complete the rest of the application until you receive an email with your ID number.  Once you receive your ID number (insert how long this takes, e.g –you will receive an email within a few minutes, in about half an hour, the next day, etc.) you can go back to complete your application any time and as many times as you want.

• I started my application and need to complete it. How do I re-enter my application?
  To return to your application, do one of the following:
• Enter the system generated ID number that was sent to you via e-mail in the box at the start of the page and click Submit

OR

• Enter your information in the First Name, LastName and e-mail address fields.  Make sure you enter the information EXACTLY as you did when you registered.   A "loading" message will appear, the system will retrieve your application and the fields will populate with the data you previously saved.  NOTE THAT YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAMES AND EMAIL ADDRESS MUST BE ENTERED IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY YOU ENTERED THEM WHEN YOU BEGAN THE APPLICATION.
• I am unable to complete my application in one sitting, how do I save my application?
  Click the “Save and Continue” button on each page to save the information you have entered.  It is a good idea to save each page as you complete it to make sure your work is preserved.

• I tried to fill out the application, starting from the top, and each time, after I entered my email address, a small window popped up that said “loading”.  When the window disappeared, so did everything I had already entered.
  Try closing the browser and reopening the page. You will need to complete and save Section 1, Page 1, in order to receive an ID number. Once you've completed this section the system will generate an ID number that will be sent to you via e-mail. Once you receive the ID number you will be able to continue working on the application at any time.  You do not need to complete the rest of the application in one sitting.  

• I am an international applicant trying to register but I do not have a postal code
  You do not need to enter a postal code.
• I am trying to apply to the Floortime™ Player Program, but I don’t see it as an option under “Select program of Interest”:
  The FTP application is not available as an online application. Click here to access the FTP application. Once you have completed the application please send it, along with your letters of recommendations to DIRInstitute@icdl.com. The application contains all the information you need to apply, but if you have questions you can write to DIRInstitue@icdl.com .
