2010 ICDL Annual Conference

Redefining Autism
November 5-7, 2010
Washington, DC Metro Area

Participants Comments about Past Annual Conferences:

  • "Best professional conference I've attended in years"
  • "The November ICDL Conference had a wealth of up-to-date information related to developments in understanding and working with children and parents"
  • "Excellent conference. The plenary sessions contained lots of new information and were inspiring"
  • "I always come back with new information, particularly brain development and how this research impacts our work with children"
  • "I came home with a lot of valuable information. I just wish I had all of the professionals at the conference available to help my son!"
  • " I found this conference to be a very powerful experience. Many of the messages were not new, but the way that the material was presented really impacted me. I went back to my classroom and made immediate changes which have already started to yield positive results. I look forward to increasing my understanding and usage of the DIR model"
  • "Lectures are explained from a developmental perspective, including the reasons for a child behavior. Play empowers parents to help the child climb the developmental ladders and be happy learning new skills. Everything from aggression, sleep disorders, bipolar moods is explained clearly from the child inside -outside world. ICDL does not put the blame on the child. Humane treatment of children is spread world wide because of ICDL. I thank you!"

The Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders (ICDL) has successfully offered 3-day annual conferences since 1997.Thousands of parents and professionals from multiple disciplines, states and countries have attended these conferences, allowing for rich interdisciplinary dialogue. The goal of the ICDL Annual conferences is to help parents and professionals integrate knowledge and competencies from different disciplines that will improve prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of emotional and developmental disorders in infancy and childhood.
