Welcome from President, Serena Wieder, PhD. With the increasing rates of mental health and developmental disorders in infants and young children, as well as the growing demand for culturally competent mental health professionals ICDL has recognized the need for a permanent, ongoing, state of the art graduate program that responds to these demands with a comprehensive framework. A number of disciplines have contributed to this growing body of knowledge including: psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience, speech pathology, occupational and physical therapy, social work, education, and counseling. The goal of the ICDL Graduate School is to enable students to master the insights of each of the contributing disciplines, understand the range and variations of healthy and disordered functioning in the early years of life, implement a unified developmental approach to research and clinical practice, and serve as leaders for future generations.
The admissions committee is currently reviewing applications for the second class, which will begin on September 8, 2008. Spaces in the second class are still available. The final deadline to apply is July 1, 2008.
The PhD in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health and Developmental Disorders is a distance learning program for qualified applicants throughout the United States and abroad.
